With the start of November, Xàbia has announced the activities that will take place in the town to mark the November 25 -25N-, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This year, the Town Hall has chosen the motto 'Xàbia is still bright for those who are no longer there and for all those who are there', with which it is intended to pay tribute both to the victims of gender violence and to those who have fought for the improvement of laws and resources in this area.
The Councilor for Equality, Raquel Violero, explained that the slogan seeks to recognize the struggle of all those who have contributed to the advancement of women's rights and protection, while also remembering the victims and their families, who continue to suffer the consequences of gender-based violence. Violero stressed the need to continue raising awareness of the problem "because it is a very harsh reality."
