El Javea Town Hall Last night, an ordinary plenary session was held in which, among other items on the agenda, the provisional approval of the modification of the Tax Ordinance regulating the fee for the provision of the service of receiving plant remains from gardening at the municipal transfer plant located in the Catarroges area was addressed.
The issue sparked a lengthy debate between the governing coalition and the Socialist group, primarily focused on the significant increase in the tax amount. Ultimately, the proposal was approved by a majority vote, with the People's Party, Vox, and Citizens for Jávea (CpJ) voting in favor; Compromís abstaining; and the Socialist Party voting against.
The Councillor for Services, Juanjo GarcíaHe explained that the modification is due to the high cost of treating this waste, "an expense that is not covered by current revenue; with what is collected, the Town Hall "It loses almost a million euros a year. This deficit is paid for by all the residents, and it's not fair that those who don't use the service should bear that cost," García pointed out.
With the new ordinance, the fee for depositing plant waste at the plant goes from less than three euros to about 24 euros, "this represents an increase of approximately 800%," the PSOE points out.
From the Socialist Party, the councilwoman Kika Mata He called the price increase "excessive" and criticized the lack of oversight of the plant's operations. "The scale is broken, and we're relying on the charges without any real verification."
Mata insisted on the need to condition and improve the facilities of the transfer point before applying such a steep increase, "when it rains, you can't even pass there, in fact, many gardeners puncture their tires due to the poor condition of the ground."
For her part, Compromís spokesperson Carme Català stated that the matter "should have been discussed beforehand in committee," and called for greater dialogue and consensus before adopting decisions that directly affect the residents and businesses of the municipality.

I love that the PSOE is complaining in local councils (following orders from their boss) about a price increase being forced by the socialist government. To make matters worse, this corrupt government is forcing it under the pretext that the EU is imposing it, even though the EU has already stated that this isn't true.
They're brilliant. Governing and taking care of the citizens? Not a single mistake, but lying, creating conflict, and stirring up trouble...
El Chungui also incorporated into socialism his crazy, never-finished projects, as well as fires in both natural parks and landfills.
It's true, Chulvi is to blame as always.
The situation is as always, the ghost towns absorb a large part of that waste that neither side has been able to solve.
But the PP has an advantage that the PSOE does not: the refrain of "Chulvi is guilty," even though they have been in power for two years.
You're home, you've done shit.
We don't want you to have diarrhea: it's not good for people like you to procreate.
The same socialists they criticize have the same bosses in Madrid, and they did the same thing here.
So you know what comes next after this increase: roadsides and abandoned plots will be littered with gardening and pruning waste. Many won't pay and will just dump it wherever they can. Mr. Ortolá, you can tell your municipal police officers to patrol the areas around housing developments and other places that are going to be overflowing with trash. More fuel for future fires in the area.
Kika Mata, now a champion of the "jaldilers" (a local term for the residents of Xàbia), had eight years to resolve the problem of the water transfer station. And she didn't, despite sanctions from the Ministry of Environment, fires in Ramblars, and her empty rhetoric of "it hurts that you say Xàbia isn't clean." Eight years were needed to update a fee used to pay for a service that costs one million euros. Eight years to regularize an expired contract and resolve a legal dispute with Biomasa del Guadalquivir. Eight years to draft a project for a new plant—in Catarroges—that didn't include a fire prevention system. Eight years to invent/create/implement a system that doesn't harm the residents of Xàbia. But now, she and the Socialists are the champions of the Xàbia residents.
It amuses me that Kika Mata criticizes the poor condition of the road, saying it floods and gardeners get flat tires on their vans when they drive there. Didn't that happen when you were in power? It's only happened since the PP took over the town hall, right? Hahahaha, you complain about your own negligence over the past 12 years, which is no small feat. All you do is finish your botched projects: roundabouts, the swimming pool, the Casa dels Xolbi, and we'll see when you'll finally complete the two buildings at Trenc d'Alba and the mini-auditorium you planned.
