Xàbia will open the charity calendar of rowing of 2026 with the celebration of I Challenge '100 Solidarity Shovels SUMA against Breast Cancer – SUMA Challenges for Equality', an initiative promoted by the Valencian Community Rowing Federation with the support of Club Náutico Jávea.
The event will take place next Sunday March 8 in the waters of the bay of Jávea, opposite the Grava beachand will bring together around 90 athletes belonging to different clubs in the Valencian Community and the Federation School.
The event aims to show the support of the sports world for people who suffer from or have overcome breast cancerusing rowing as a tool for visibility and solidarity.
The trials will take place aboard the traditional Falucho Llaüt Valencià and they can be followed from different points along the Javi coastline.
The competition will have two formats. The first will be the 100 Solidarity Shovelfuls ChallengeThis event is reserved for athletes in the SCM category, comprised of breast cancer survivors. Four teams will participate and must complete a course of 1.000 meters with a turn.
The second modality will be that of the Challenges for Equality, in which six teams will compete over a distance of 5.000 metersIn both cases, departures will be in fleet format.
The participating clubs include the Club Nautico Oliva, Club Nautico Benidorm, Club Náutico Jávea, Club Rem Marina Dénia, Club Náutico Santa Pola and the Real Club Regatas Alicante, in addition to a team from the School of the Rowing Federation of the Valencian Community.
