"Wow, another year of a deserted contest"

OPINION | We can Xàbia

Wow, another year of a deserted competition to control crowded access to the coves! – Oh, but is it summer already? Boy, how time flies!

This time, it's access control to the coves, which will fall—once again!—to the local police, who have nothing else to do in the summer! In previous years, it was the competitions for transport to the beaches that were voided (this year, it seems, they didn't even attempt it), so each bather has to travel in their own private car, which doesn't help much…

Processing, awarding, and managing a public tender is no small feat; it takes several months, and if it fails (which can happen to even the best manager), it's a failure for the administration, which won't be able to provide the service efficiently.

In the case of access to the coves, these are events that are repeated year after year, so from We can Xàbia We believe it is time to propose a comprehensive and permanent solution to the problem so that we do not find ourselves every summer with deficient services for the most crowded beaches on the Alicante coast.

For transportation, when we participate in the municipal government, we will establish a municipal fleet of minibuses that will transport bathers to the beaches in the summer and connect urban centers and residential areas in the winter with a more efficient service than the current one (more routes, more frequent service). A beneficial solution for residents and visitors, with no unpleasant surprises every summer.

Public transportation to the beaches would also alleviate the massive influx of vehicles and therefore facilitate access control; and this control could be carried out by personnel hired by the beach itself. town hallFurthermore, it would avoid the problem of vehicles flooding into the mountains or onto private plots belonging to residents (where there is a suspicion that they charge for this parking), and thus the suspicion that those in charge of access control are giving preferential treatment to certain vehicles.

In short, a lasting solution—the problem doesn't seem to resolve itself, but rather will only get worse—and without any surprises every summer.

    Good, to say the least.
You're probably surprised that Jávea City Council has always cared about Cala Granadella, very little, if at all. They've completely abandoned it since time immemorial, and now they're cleaning it up a bit (the ravine is disgusting; they need a shovel and a truck to empty and clean it), because the (I don't want to say the word) Instagrammers are always posting photos and cheering for the cove, so that, just in case there aren't enough of us, more Sunday visitors will come with their food and all their paraphernalia and invade us.
They care very little about this cove, if at all, because I don't think any of the owners are from Jávea; almost all of us are from Benitachell. However, the local bosses come once a year to take photos and see if they can eat and drink something when they're invited.
There is a neighborhood association there that only defends someone's particular interests, and the presidents really like the photo.
Meanwhile, we homeowners can't go from June to September, let alone longer, but we do pay taxes (such as garbage and property tax), and so do the kayaking companies, which should be banned, don't pay any taxes to the City Council, even though they occupy the entire "La Cova" boat slip, built and paid for by our parents, and which we can't use to take out our own boats.
Well, why... continue, this has no solution... because they don't want to of course, but we will always have the right to complain.
    regards
