When is celebrated

Origin of the Mig Any party
Since its inception, this party was always celebrated internally; but in 1996 is when it began to open up more externally, involving people on the street. From that year on, the Mig Any party started to get big. Over the years and due to the economic situation, in 2013, this event changed and began to be held at midday since the traditional stew was eliminated, and it is from then on that this meeting was established as a meal, being of a more private nature for the members of the festivities and family.
In 2026, the decision was made to once again open the main event of the Mig Any to the general public. This marked a return to tradition for the festivities of the cross and the crescent moon. Therefore, this year, the Mig Any will feature a festival tent on Avenida Lepanto, concentrating all the celebrations in the streets of Duanes de la Mar.
Likewise, both the Proclamation of the Moorish Standard Bearer, Aroa Sánchez Lora, and the Christian Standard Bearer, José
Antonio Buigues Llidó, as the Presentation of the Captaincy Al-Tarik's 2026, will take place on the first day of the Mig Any in the festival tent.
Mig Any Programming
The Mig Any festivities begin on Friday night, this 2026 with the traditional informal appetizers which winds through some streets of the Duanes de la Mar fishing district. This event was revived in 2023 after being discontinued for several years. Following this, the Moorish and Christian Standard Bearers for 2026 will be proclaimed, and the 2026 Captaincy will be presented in the festival tent on Lepanto Avenue. Afterwards, a fraternal dinner will be held for the Filaes (Moorish and Christian groups), and the tent will open with a DJ.

Previous editions
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, in 2021, the Board of Festes de Moros i Cristians de Xàbia decided to suspend the celebration of the acts of the Mig Any Fester. With this decision, the traditional meeting of coexistence and reunion was annulled, being for the moment, the only year in which it has not been celebrated since the beginning of these festivities.
