The Bay of Valencia has hosted, in recent days, the eighth edition of the Optiorange, a leading children's regatta within the international Optimist class calendar, which has brought together young sailing talents for four days of competition.

Among the notable results was the victory of Nikole Victoria Douglass, sailor of Club Nautico de Javea, who won in the category Under-13 girls after completing a solid championship against a large international fleet.

The young athlete shared the podium with Alix Nguyen-Minh (Sopraventus / Aberdeen Boat Club), which finished in second position, and with Noa López (RCN of Valencia), which completed the podium in third place.

In the Under-13 boys' category, the victory went to the American Mason Lim (Performance Sailing Institute), followed by Lucas Christiansen and Kerem Kilic.

The regatta took place over four days, during which the following events were completed: nine testsFive in the qualifying phase and four in the final series. The last day was marked by light winds, barely exceeding five knots from the northeast, and only allowed one race to be run for the gold and silver groups.

In the overall standings, the Finn Sisu Selio He was proclaimed champion of the Optiorange 2026, while the Spanish Mª Antonia Peñalver She won in the women's category.

The Valencian race was also the last one on the circuit of the Optimist Excellence Cup 2025-2026, which has toured different venues on the national calendar such as Vigo, Palma, Gran Canaria, El Puerto de Santa María, Torrevieja and Palamós.

Nikole Victoria Douglass' result represents another success for the youth academy of Club Nautico de Javea, which continues to consolidate its presence in national and international grassroots sailing competitions.
