María Isabel Ferrer, an athlete from the Llebeig Club of Xàbia, achieved this Saturday a double success in achieving the second place in the Master 40 category and the tenth position in the women's overall classification of the Spanish Half Marathon Championship, held in the city of Mérida. Her outstanding performance took place on a demanding course that tested the participants.

Ferrer, who participated in the Absolute and Master 40 categories, demonstrated his high level by crossing the finish line with a time of 1 21 hour and minutesThis time allowed him not only to win the silver medal in their age category, but also to position themselves among the ten best female athletes overall from Spain in the demanding distance of the half marathon.
A course that tested the athletes
The route of this half marathon in Mérida was characterized by its beauty, running through the monuments the most important of the Roman city. However, its layout made it a considerable challenge for runners. The course featured constant hills and uneven terrain, combining Roman road, cobblestones, dirt, and asphalt, which made achieving good times extremely difficult.

In addition to María Isabel Ferrer's brilliant performance, Club Llebeig of Xàbia was represented by José Antonio Cecilia, who also participated in the Spanish Championships. Cecilia completed the race with a time of 1 27 hour and minutescontributing to the club's presence in this important national competition.
