El Javea Town Hall awarded, in a town hall meeting, the Villa de Xàbia Prize for Solidarity to Francisco Pastor Español, better known as 'Kiko Bola' and as he likes to be called. Although he is going through difficult times, he is quite recovered from his last intervention. Pastor explains that it is difficult for him to speak because he has lost some memory. 'Kiko Bola' is grateful and excited, but at the same time surprised, to know that he is being awarded this prize, since as he tells us, "I don't know why I have been awarded this important prize. I haven't done anything and everything I have done has been in solidarity acts, whether at a cultural, sporting or altruistic level.".
Our protagonist today was once Spain's largest blood donor. Pastor recalls that his first donation was on April 25, 1971, and last year he had the opportunity to make his final donation. Furthermore, his long professional career and dedication to various organizations in the municipality have made 'Kiko Bola' a well-known figure among the residents of Xàbia. He is particularly proud of having been a founder of the local Red Cross branch, as well as a member of Civil Protection and the Mare de Déu del [Mare de Déu] association. Loreto, and he was once a sports contributor for Radio Dénia.
Kiko proudly shows us the gold medal that the 8 of September always puts on and gets excited when she shows us the photos and memories of her entire career. His children Juanvi and María Teresa and his partner Mandika are always looking out for him. 'Kiko' sheds a few tears when he mentions his family and tells us that his daily routine consists of walking and going to recovery so that his words and memory can return to their place. Now, he has set himself the challenge of preparing a speech for October 9th. He has the help of a person who we cannot reveal for now, and he tells us that he will speak although it is certain that he will get emotional.
