Maintaining the club's firm commitment to always include a national-level event in its annual calendar, this time the regatta will serve as nothing less than the Spanish Cruiser Championship.

More than 30 vessels and a strong international presence

The fact that the race is a qualifying event and a decisive factor in winning the national title has boosted participation. The organizers have confirmed that more than thirty boats will be registered, solidifying the event's status as a leading nautical competition. Thanks to its strategic location, Xàbia will welcome fleets from various parts of Spain, including Cádiz, the Balearic Islands, Barcelona, and the Valencian Community itself.

Internationally, the event will feature sailboats from Portugal, joined by vessels from England and Poland. The competition will bring together vintage, classic, traditional spirit, and RI Classic yachts in the bay of Jávea, solidifying its position as one of the most prominent events on the national classic sailing calendar.

The regatta will be a strategic stop on the national circuit. After competing in the Puig Vela Clàssica at the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona, the fleet will head to Jávea for this fourth edition and will then continue to the Balearic Islands, where the Mallorca and Menorca races will be held, culminating in the XXII Copa del Rey de Barcos de Época – Vela Clásica Menorca, which will bring the circuit to a close.

Authentic vintage gems

The competition's main appeal lies in the immeasurable historical value of its participants, divided into the categories of vintage boats, classic boats, and boats with a traditional spirit. These are vessels that require meticulous care and are considered true "nautical gems," ranging from boats built in 1975 to majestic 19th-century ships.

Among the undisputed stars who will dock in Xàbia are some very prominent names. history such as ilex, an imposing 19th-century sailing ship; the Greenling, launched in 1925; or the famous Clarionet, a boat that until now had only been seen in Barcelona and that will travel expressly to the Alicante coast to join the competition.

With this deployment, the organization's ambition is clear: to consolidate the event and turn Xàbia into "the Saint-Tropez of the Valencian Community," highlighted Arturo Miquel, president of the Club Nautico de Javea, during the presentation of the event alongside the councilor of Sports, Tony MolinaCarlos Carbonell, member of Vela and the director of SH Jávea, Antonio Cantalejo, where the presentation took place.

A show open to the public

The event has the institutional support of Javea Town Hall and the crucial support of private sponsors. And although the main spectacle will be at sea—and can be followed in the best possible way both from the boats and from land—the regatta wants to get closer to the public than ever before.

Miquel pointed out that "the novelty of this fourth edition with the incorporation of the XVI Mare Nostrum Classics Trophy, which is also the 2026 Spanish Classic Sailing Cup, represents an important recognition that places Jávea among the venues of the main national competitions for these classes."

Therefore, one of the major new features is that the club's docks where the fleet will be moored will remain open throughout the event. This way, any fan or curious onlooker can approach and visit the boats from the outside, admiring the spectacular nature of these wooden and sailing giants up close.

Councilman Toni Molina congratulated the Jávea Nautical Club for continuing this regatta for another year, saying, "We are growing and we are pioneers of Classic Sailing in the Valencian Community."
