El Center Excursionista Xàbia (CEX) is preparing for a year full of special activities to mark its 50 º aniversarioThroughout 2026, the organization has arranged a series of events that include conferences, exhibitionsdocumentaries and sporting activities to commemorate half a century of history in the promotion of health, mountains and adventure in Xàbia.
With a packed schedule of events, CEX promises to be the meeting point for all enthusiasts of the nature and mountaineering, highlighting great moments.
Carlos Soria's lecture: '72 years climbing mountains'
The first major event of the year will be the lecture by legendary mountaineer Carlos Soria, which will take place on January 16th at 19:30 pm in the Multipurpose Room of the Portal del Clot.In this talk, Soria, who at 86 years old has just conquered Manaslu, one of the fourteen mountains over 8.000 meters, will share his experiences and lessons acquired over more than 70 years climbing the highest peaks on the planet.
